Purse swap

I participated in the purse/tote swap at Crochetville. This evening my package was here when I returned home. It was filled with wonderful things. The purse, which is really awesome, such nice workmanship. Stuffies (stuffed toys), crochet hooks, a hook holder, CHOCOLATE!!!, stitch markers, needles, a journal and patterns. I think that was it. Jenni really out did herself. Such a generous swap partner. AND I know she has to be a very busy Mom. THANKS JENNI!!

Relay For Life

WELL IT IS THAT TIME OF YEAR!!!!
Our family is preparing for our annual get together at the Relay for Life event in our town. This year it is May 19 & 20th. Our fundraising efforts started over a month ago. Our family has been affected by cancer in so many ways. In my immediate family my mom, daughter, mother-in-law, father-in-law and myself have all been victims of this disease. Only my youngest daughter, husband and father have not been affect physically, but definately they have been affected.

If you feel so moved to help in our efforts to raise funds for the American Cancer Society please check out MY 2007 RELAY FOR LIFE WEB PAGE https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=206009&lis=1&kntae206009=BF13F98170A94172B6763A2085DF26A3&supId=165779268

Snow, snow, snow

We are finally experiencing winter here in the thumb of Michigan. I did not get a whole lot done. After dinner Mark and I watched Boz and part of Lion King 1 1/2. I tried to get some crocheting done but was interuped by Sponge Bob Collapse. The game was calling my name. What could I do!!

Anyway, I am working on some baby caps for a Neonatal unit for someone on C-ville. I guess I'm sure I will do more tomorrow night.

Hair Phases

Tonight I read a post on Crochetville by Coolhockeymom. I don't know her personally but I do know she has had cancer treatments and has loss her hair. This reminded me of the collage Pati did with the changes in her hair styles. This is what she looked like when she was a sophmore in college. December 1999.

This picture was taken about two months before her diagnosis, August 2003. Pati is on the right.

And this is her hair collage. It amazed me that after having such beautiful hair, yes that's her natural color in the first picture, that she was able to deal so well with losing her hair, wearing 1/2 wigs, no hair on the top, just the sides and back, that's why she has the hats on; and then waiting, and waiting for it to finally come back in.

MORE SQUARES

Here are four squares that I sent out this afternoon to a C-ville member for a comfortgan for her grandmother.
